Internship day 5

On my fifth and last day we went to different offices to check on existing servers and the people who work with them. First we went to MAK pictures, located in Hollywood. They work with a different type of server than the one I installed earlier, but I got along with it pretty well. We checked the server together to make sure it is still all that the customer desires.

After MAK pictures we went on to lunch with the executive producer there, Paul. Off course it was 'American Style'; an enormous slice of pizza. It was an illuminating experience, since Paul told me a lot about the world he was working in.

Then, we went on to the studios my boss works regularly, along with one of his companions Rick. They showed me around and I met this editor, quite a famous one I was told, named Janice. Janice was a super friendly older woman who showed to me what she was working on. The editing process went pretty well, she just could not get access to a certain type of music, since the rights were too expensive. This was very frustrating, since she was at the finishing stage of her editing and this situation stood in the way.

After all, I have had a very productive week in which I learned a lot. It was fun to see that, although computers and servers are not really my field of interest, I knew how to handle things pretty fast and I actually enjoyed doing things in this area of expertise. Off course none of this would have been possible and I would like to thank my boss for enlightening me with his knowledge. I truly had a terrific week and I am happy I chose this internship.
